The event is expected to open up new investment opportunities while helping to shape a model of green industrial development associated with heritage preservation, fostering rapid and sustainable growth for Hue City.
According to the signed agreement, the three parties outlined specific objectives and jointly committed to leveraging the potential and strengths of Hue City and Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, promoting developing projects for urban, industry, transportation infrastructure, seaports, public transport, and other sustainable sectors.
The long-term goal is to develop Hue into a heritage, cultural, and tourism city as well as a regional economic hub; at the same time, positioning Chan May - Lang Co as a major national center for automobile manufacturing, spare parts, and supporting industries, with the aim of exporting high-end “Made in Vietnam” products.
Hue is shaping up to become a national hub for automobile manufacturing through the cooperation between FUTA and Kim Long Motor.
The memorandum of understanding sets out a comprehensive roadmap to promote the development of Hue City, focusing on 3 core contents, including conducting research, proposing, and developing urban real estate projects; studying and proposing Chan May Administrative and Financial Center Urban Area project and Lang Co - Lap An Lagoon Urban - Commercial Service Complex, in connection with infrastructure renovation investment in the Lang Co area. At the same time, the parties will invest in developing housing for low-income residents, contributing to sustainable social welfare in Hue City, especially the areas serving the large-scale automobile that continues to expand.
In terms of transportation infrastructure and public transit, the parties will coordinate research and implementation of monorail (urban railway) routes, including Hue City - Phu Bai, Phu Bai - Chan May - Lang Co, a route along the Huong River, as well as the routes to heritage sites, and inter-regional routes, following investment models in line with regulations and development orientations. In addition, they will develop an electric bus system for Hue City, initially piloting routes to transport students and tourists at certain selected tourist destinations.
Regarding industry and manufacturing, the plan includes developing industrial complexes such as automobile manufacturing and automotive supporting industries; fostering partnerships and cooperation with stakeholders in green steel production, LNG power plants, exploring Chan May deep-water port infrastructure, along with investing projects aligned with Hue City’s investment attraction criteria.
Hue City People’s Committee affirmed that it will facilitate legal and administrative procedures, ensuring implementation in compliance with the law and in line with the city’s development orientation in the new phase.
