A lot of expectations put on Aeon Mall Hue Commercial Center

On the construction site of the Aeon Mall Hue Project in mid-March 2024, the atmosphere was bustling and urgent. Hundreds of diligent workers, each assigned specific tasks, along with skilled engineers, were completing the final stages of site preparation to facilitate the assembly and interior decoration before completion.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong, Chief Commander of the Project, stated that the Aeon Mall Hue Commercial Center Project has a total investment of nearly 4,000 billion VND; the total area of the project is approximately 8.62 hectares. Construction of the main items of the project began in January 2023, despite encountering certain difficulties. However, the contractors and construction units have made efforts to overcome these challenges, striving to complete the entire project on time.

Currently, the project has achieved over 82% progress compared to the construction plan, with some basic items already completed. "We continue to accelerate the construction progress, aiming to complete the entire project by the end of August 2024 and officially open for operation by mid-September 2024," said Mr. Cuong with determination.

During the project progress inspection in early March 2024, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the project site is located in the An Van Duong New Urban Area, An Dong Ward, Hue City, with a total area of about 1,700 hectares planned for the development of administrative centers, commercial services, and residential areas. The transportation connection from the city center to the commercial center site is very convenient, attracting potential customers. The Aeon Mall Hue Commercial Center is currently the largest comprehensive service commercial center in the Central region; upon operation, it will supplement commercial services and social infrastructure in the area according to the approved plan, marking a new step in attracting investment in the commercial and service sector, contributing to diversifying shopping centers and services in the province.

"The project brings positive impacts by creating employment opportunities, attracting investment, developing commercial, service, and tourism sectors, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province and the Central region. Aeon Mall Commercial Center will provide a modern, convenient shopping, entertainment, and leisure space, enhancing the quality of life, and meeting the increasing demands of Hue residents and tourists. Through this, it contributes to enhancing the position of Thua Thien Hue on the economic map of the Asia-Pacific region," affirmed Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Opening Up Opportunities for Cooperation

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, as of March 2024, the province has 133 projects with foreign direct investment (FDI) totaling over $4,554.5 million; among them, there are 18 projects from Japanese enterprises with a total registered capital of over $225 million. Additionally, some Japanese companies are also efficiently operating in Japanese language training, supporting services for labor export needs, etc.

Recently, Japanese partners have invested in the construction of many important projects, effectively contributing to the province's socio-economic development direction and providing stable annual budgets for the province, such as the Hai Van Tunnel road project; construction of Hue Central Hospital according to international standards; restoration program of Hue Citadel; disaster prevention projects. Particularly, the improvement of Hue's water environment, funded by JICA through preferential interest loans from the Japanese government, with a total investment equivalent to 3,169 billion VND.

Regarding the direction of investment cooperation with Japanese partners in the coming time, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong stated that, with the cooperation foundation established with Japan over time, and with the potential and strengths of both sides, the province invites Japanese partners to invest in supporting industries, processing and manufacturing technologies, high technology, smart technology, logistics, and industrial zone infrastructure, etc.

The province is committed to accompanying and facilitating Aeon Mall as well as Japanese investors throughout the investment environment exploration, investment procedure access, and throughout the construction and operation of projects," affirmed Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong.
