Presenting gifts to support 69 single women in Hoa Chau Ward

The initiative is part of the ‘Empowering Single Women in Hue City’s Peri-Urban Areas’ project, funded by Children of Vietnam (COV) and implemented by Hue City Women’s Union. Under the program, cash assistance totaling VND 62.5 million was provided to 125 single women facing financial difficulties, including 56 in Huong An Ward and 69 in Hoa Chau Ward.

In addition to providing cash assistance on this occasion, over time, the project has also focused on equipping women with knowledge and skills, providing resources, and strengthening connections to help them gradually establish stable livelihoods, reduce their reliance on seasonal work, and move away from unsustainable sales channels.

In particular, integrating livelihood support with market linkages, access to capital, savings options, and appropriate financial assistance has strengthened women’s resilience to unexpected difficulties and fluctuations, while laying the groundwork for them to better manage their livelihoods and plan for the future.

Launching the ‘Safe Vegetable Production’ Group and Signing of Commitments by Its Members in Huong An Ward

On this occasion, the Huong An Ward Women’s Union launched a safe vegetable production group comprising 10 members. The group grew out of a women’s vegetable-growing group previously supported by COV, with support from Hue City Women’s Union and local authorities.

The group was established to sustain production gains beyond the project’s completion, providing a platform for members to share experience, offer technical support, improve product quality, and increase the incomes of single women in the locality.

The activity is part of a series of events marking the 96th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2026) and the 16th anniversary of Vietnamese Women’s Day on October 20.
