| Students discuss with experts on skills to prevent drug use and school violence |
Participating in the program, over 1,500 students were provided with information and knowledge about drug prevention and control, helping them gain a better understanding of the harmful effects and consequences of drug use on their health, studies, and daily lives. Furthermore, they were also taught to identify potentially risky situations and stay alert to invitations and attempts to persuade them to use drugs. Practical ways to say no to these bad intentions were also presented during the session.
In the session on preventing school violence, students learned about positive ways of interacting with others and how to recognize signs of violence and bullying, as well as the causes of conflicts and disputes. At the same time, they participated in discussions on how to manage their emotions, listen to and respect others, and handle conflicts appropriately, while recognizing their responsibility to neither engage in nor encourage or support violent behavior.
According to a representative of Hue City Youth Center, by joining discussions, exchanges, and direct interaction, students had the opportunity to share their thoughts, ask questions, and discuss how to respond to real-life situations.
The program equipped students with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, prevent, and respond to risks related to drug use and school violence. It also encouraged them to protect themselves proactively, respond appropriately, and contribute to a safe, healthy, and friendly school environment.
