At the event, Mr. Tran Dinh Binh, Chairman of Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Hue City, said that cooperation between Hue and Chinese partners and businesses has achieved positive results in recent years. By mid-2026, China ranked second in terms of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Hue, with more than 30 projects and total registered capital of approximately USD 787.5 million. These projects have created jobs for more than 9,000 workers and made practical contributions to the city’s socio-economic development. Meanwhile, cultural and educational exchange programs, including the National Chinese Singing Festival and Consul General Scholarships, along with exchanges of lecturers and students between Hue University and Chinese universities, have contributed to strengthening friendship between the younger generations of the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Huynh Tien Dat, President of Hue Union of Friendship Organizations, emphasised that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China is a valuable asset nurtured over generations by the leaders and peoples of the two countries. In this relationship, people-to-people diplomacy serves as a solid social foundation, contributing to greater mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples.
Ms. Liu Na, representative of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang, expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Hue City authorities and friendship organizations. She also stated that China - Vietnam relations are entering their best period, guided by the strategic vision of the senior leaders of the two Parties and States.
The Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang affirmed its commitment to continuing to work with Hue City to strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, tourism, heritage conservation and digital transformation, as well as exchanges between younger generations.
