At the investment promotion discussion between Hue City and Chinese businesses

China is currently one of Hue's largest foreign investors, with more than 30 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth nearly 771 million USD in registered capital, accounting for approximately 16% of the city's total FDI. These projects are concentrated in industry, energy, services, and food processing, and currently provide employment for more than 9.000 local workers.

During the discussion, Hue City leaders introduced the city's investment potential, competitive advantages, and a portfolio of key projects seeking investment, with a focus on infrastructure, green industry, cultural industries, and urban services. Representatives of Chinese enterprises also discussed administrative procedures, investment incentives, and conditions for ensuring sustainable development.

Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung addressing the discussion

In his speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung praised the thorough preparations for the event, describing it as an important platform for encouraging Chinese enterprises to explore investment opportunities in Hue in particular and Vietnam as a whole. He also emphasized that, as relations between the two Parties and the two States continue to develop positively and both countries enter a new stage of development with ambitious goals, now is an ideal time for businesses from both nations to expand cooperation and seize new opportunities for mutual growth.

The Foreign Minister expressed his hope that cooperation between Hue City and Chinese enterprises could become a model within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two Parties and the two States. He also encouraged the Chinese business community to continue viewing Hue as a strategic, long-term investment destination. The two countries should strengthen stronger connectivity and the development of detailed cooperation plans built on three key pillars: developing logistics infrastructure, regional transport connectivity, digital infrastructure, green energy, and climate-resilient infrastructure solutions; expanding cooperation in pioneering sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), the semiconductor industry, and biotechnology, while promoting smart manufacturing, advanced processing industries, and high-tech agriculture to integrate Hue more deeply into global supply chains; and, at the same time, broadening collaboration in high-end resort tourism, wellness tourism, and the sustainable utilization of cultural heritage, enhancing the transfer of advanced medical technology, developing modern treatment centers, and training high-skilled human resources.

Chinese businesses express interest in exploring investment opportunities in Hue City

Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung stressed that the growing Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Vietnam and China provides a solid foundation for Hue to strengthen cooperation with Chinese enterprises. With its vision of becoming a major center for culture, tourism, specialized healthcare, science and technology, and the marine economy, Hue welcomes Chinese investors to explore opportunities in high technology, green industry, cultural industries, processing and manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, tourism and services, infrastructure development, high-tech agriculture, and other high value-added sectors. Hue City remains committed to supporting businesses by maintaining a transparent, convenient, and stable investment environment and by promptly resolving any challenges or obstacles, enabling investors to confidently establish a long-term presence in the city.
