At the meeting, Chairman Le Tri Thanh expressed his appreciation for Ms. Dong Biyu’s contributions to strengthening cooperation between localities in central Vietnam and their Chinese counterparts in recent years.
He noted that Hue and many localities in China share cultural, historical, and geographical similarities, providing a solid foundation for expanding people-to-people exchanges, cultural diplomacy, and development cooperation.
As a world cultural heritage city, Hue considers cooperation with Chinese localities, universities, and research institutions a key pillar of its development strategy. The city places special emphasis on sharing expertise in heritage management, conservation, and the sustainable promotion of cultural heritage.
Currently, over 80 Chinese businesses are investing in Hue. Although the overall investment scale has yet to match its full potential, the city hopes to attract more projects in industry, environmental protection, infrastructure, and services.

In response to a proposal to shorten the processing time for investment procedures, the city pledged to further streamline administrative processes and enhance the efficiency of services for investors.
In tourism, Hue aims to step up the promotion of Hue Ancient Capital as a destination in the Chinese market, while exploring opportunities to enhance air connectivity to attract more Chinese visitors.
Furthermore, the city seeks to broaden exchange programs for students, scholars, and public-sector officials, while drawing on China’s experience in smart city development, intelligent transportation, urban green-space planning, and the application of technology in disaster risk management.
