On the morning of July 2nd, the Standing Committee of Hue City People's Council held a press conference to announce the agenda for the second session of the 9th Hue City People's Council for the 2026 - 2031 term. The event was chaired by Member of the Standing Committee of Hue City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Council Nguyen Quang Tuan.
According to the Standing Committee at the press conference, this will be the first session to comprehensively review the city's socio-economic development following the official implementation of the two-tier local government model. It will also make decisions on a number of key policies serving Hue's development objectives for the 2026 - 2030 period.
In addition to reviewing socio-economic development and national defense and security performance during the first six months of the year and setting out tasks for the remaining six months, the People's Council will consider the city's socio-economic development plan for 2026 - 2030. The council will also hear reports from the Standing Committee of the People's Council, Hue City People's Committee, the Standing Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, the People's Court, the People's Procuracy, and the Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency.
Notably, the session is expected to adopt 21 resolutions, including 19 thematic resolutions included in the 2026 legislative agenda. These resolutions focus on sectors regarded as key drivers of the city's development, including public investment, natural resources and environment, finance and state budget, digital transformation, science and technology, as well as policies supporting public officials and civil servants and ensuring social welfare.
A question-and-answer session will also be held on issues of concern to voters and the public. The Standing Committee of the People's Council is currently compiling voters' opinions and proposals submitted by council members in accordance with regulations to determine the topics for questioning.

The Standing Committee also provided an overview of the People's Council's activities during the first six months of the year - the initial operating period of the 9th People's Council.
To date, the People's Council has issued 48 resolutions within its authority, including 16 normative legal resolutions and 32 resolutions on specific matters, providing a legal foundation for local governance, administration, and socio-economic development. Alongside its legislative work, supervisory activities have continued to be strengthened, focusing on the operation of commune-level Public Administrative Service Centers and the resolution of voters' petitions. In the area of citizen reception, the Standing Committee received and processed 50 complaints, denunciations, petitions, and public feedback during the first half of the year, while also regularly monitoring the settlement of voters' recommendations.
Another highlight has been the proactive approach to policymaking. The Standing Committee has approved seven proposals for developing resolutions covering 34 policy areas, ranging from public investment, digital transformation, and science and technology to human resource development and policies for officials affected by the restructuring of administrative units.
At the press conference, journalists raised numerous questions regarding supervision of delayed investment projects, major infrastructure works across the city, plans for handling surplus public land and buildings following the administrative merger, and the review and provision of timely, adequate, and accurate support for flood-related damages. Media representatives also showed particular interest in the progress, architectural design, and implementation timeline of the bridge project crossing Con Hen (Mussel Islet), as well as enforcement measures and supervisory procedures relating to civil judgment enforcement.
Concluding the press conference, Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Quang Tuan of Hue City People's Council acknowledged and accepted all comments and questions raised by reporters. He expressed his hope that the media would continue serving as an effective bridge for information, promptly conveying the concerns and aspirations of voters while helping ensure that the People's Council's resolutions are implemented effectively in practice.
