Organized by the city chapter of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the festival took place on the evening of June 7 at Nghinh Luong Dinh pavilion on the bank of the Perfume River.

The Lantern Festival was one of the highlights of the Summer Festival - Hue Festival 2026, enriching the city’s cultural and spiritual activities while promoting the profound humanistic values of Buddhism throughout the community.

Addressing at the event, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Manh highly appreciated the contributions made by the Vietnam Buddhist Shanga chapter in Hue and the Buddhist community in supporting local authorities’ social welfare efforts, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, and fostering the great national solidarity bloc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, the Lantern Festival was not only a meaningful spiritual activity during the Vesak season but also a distinctive cultural event, contributing to promoting Hue’s image as a heritage city, a city of festivals, and an attractive cultural destination for both domestic and international visitors.

Through the event, the noble values of compassion, wisdom, and peace were expected to be spread, contributing to the building of a more humane, united, and sustainable society.
