Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2026, Tran Huu Thuy Giang chairing the press conference

According to the Organizing Committee, Hue International Music Week 2026 will take place from June 13 to 18 at an outdoor stage along the banks of the Perfume River, in front of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted. The event will bring together a diverse lineup of artists, music bands, and dance troupes from France, Spain, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.

The performance space will feature an open, community-centered design and offer free access to both locals and tourists. The organizing committee expects the event to emerge as a new musical destination in Hue, blending contemporary artistic expressions with the heritage-rich space along the banks of the Perfume River.

The Music Week this year will feature a diverse lineup of both traditional and contemporary performances. Representing Vietnam are the Hue Royal Traditional Arts Theatre; a Trinh Cong Son Music Night, with the performances of various artists including Cam Van, Duc Tuan, Vo Ha Tram, Quoc Thien, Bui Lan Huong, Tan Son, and Viet Thu, alongside the saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan.

In addition, singers MONO and Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung will take the stage with a series of youthful and energetic performances tailored to younger audiences.

Regarding international arts troupes, audiences can look forward to a vibrant lineup featuring performances by the Hervé Koubi Dance Company (France), French band OJOS, Spanish flamenco group Las Migas, singer My Anh alongside Australian artist Matthew Ifield, Japanese J-pop performer Kawanishi Natsuki, Park Sang-Yong Yung Dance Company from Busan (South Korea), as well as the music band K-Culture Friends in Chungnam, and Pungnyu Bongi troupe from Gyeongju, South Korea.

According to the organizing committee, most international art troupes will cover their own participation expenses, while several music nights are being organized through socialized funding and sponsorship support.

In addition to the International Music Week, the Summer Festival will also include a wide range of activities, such as the Hue Vesak Week 2026, a vegetarian food festival, a lantern festival, the Hue Lotus Festival, the Photo Tour program, and the previously launched “Mystical Imperial Palace” event.

Responding to reporters’ questions, the representative of the organizing committee affirmed that all participating artists have confirmed their schedules. For the seating area, around 400 seats will be reserved for invited guests, international delegations, and sponsors. Meanwhile, audiences will enjoy the performances from standing areas surrounding the stage, with an estimated capacity of between 6,000 and 10,000 spectators.

This year’s Hue Festival 2026 marks a shift from tradition, replacing formal opening and closing ceremonies with a diverse lineup of immersive experiences and community-centered artistic activities.

According to the organizing committee, Hue International Music Week 2026 is not only a platform for cultural and artistic exchange but also a strategic step toward realizing the vision of developing Hue into Vietnam’s signature festival city. The event is expected to further promote the city’s cultural identity and the image of Hue people while contributing to the growth of local tourism.
