Specifically, on May 1 alone, ticket revenue at heritage sites exceeded 4,2 billion VND, with a total of 30.765 visitors, including more than 26.500 domestic visitors and over 4.260 international visitors. Nearly 1.380 tickets were purchased online.
According to the tourism sector, during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the total number of visitors to Hue (over five days from April 29th to May 3rd) is estimated at around 610.000, up 73,7% compared to the same period last year. Of these, international visitors are estimated at 164.000, an increase of 129% year-on-year. Tourism revenue is estimated at 1.35 trillion VND, up 85% compared to the same period last year. The average occupancy rate at accommodation establishments is estimated at 99%.
Measures to ensure visitor safety were implemented in a coordinated manner. The city maintained a tourist support hotline 0234.3828288 and received feedback via the official fanpage of the Department of Tourism to promptly handle issues related to accommodation and services. Traffic police forces also increased patrols and traffic regulation at key intersections leading to major attractions such as the Imperial Citadel, royal tombs, and other tourist sites.
