Young players competing

The tournament attracted 239 participants, who are students in grades 3, 4, and 5 from primary-level institutions across 40 wards and communes in the city. They competed in individual events for boys and girls in each grade level.

This is a traditional tournament of Hue City’s primary education sector, aimed at creating a beneficial intellectual playground while maintaining and developing the movement of chess practice and competition in schools.

Through the tournament, the city’s education sector continues to encourage students to develop logical thinking, concentration, and competitive spirit, while also strengthening exchange and learning among schools and localities.

The event also serves as an opportunity to identify and nurture talented young chess players, creating a pipeline of athletes for higher-level competitions in the future, thereby contributing to the development of school sports and building a well-rounded educational environment.

Throughout the competition, the young players competed with confidence and seriousness. Many demonstrated composure, strong strategic thinking, and determination to achieve high results.

After a day of exciting competition, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes for individual categories, boys’ team, girls’ team, and overall team standings. Thanh Thuy Ward won the overall first prize.
