Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon system in Hue City is the largest brackish water ecosystem in Southeast Asia, stretching 68 km, covering a total water surface area of approximately 216 km2. The area is renowned for its poetic sunsets, rich biodiversity, and serves as a popular destination for eco-tourism, photography, and enjoying local seafood specialties.
Often described as the most enchanting time of year, March casts Hue in its finest light, when clear skies, gentle sunshine, and a rare harmony between nature and people come together. Inspired by that sentiment, Hue Today Weekly invites readers on a journey to Tam Giang Lagoon area, once part of Phu Xuan Commune and now under Phu Ho Commune, to experience the rhythm of the water and share in the livelihoods and blessings it brings to local communities. Home to around 300 residents who depend on the lagoon for their livelihoods, the area is now entering its peak harvest season, offering an array of prized catches such as gobies, sea breams, crescent perches…
