| Visitor numbers are expected to increase during the March 26 period |
Hue Monuments Conservation Center stated that the free admission policy is implemented to create favorable conditions for local residents and domestic visitors to access and explore the outstanding historical and cultural values of the heritage. It also serves as an opportunity to foster national pride, nurture a sense of attachment to the homeland, and raise awareness of preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
The policy is implemented in accordance with Resolution No. 55/2025/NQ-HDND issued by Hue City People’s Council on the collection, management, and use of fees for visiting historical and cultural sites within the heritage complex.
Currently, Hue City applies free admission for Vietnamese citizens on five occasions each year: the first day of the Lunar New Year (Tet holiday), March 26th (Hue Liberation Day), August 19th (August Revolution Day), September 2nd (National Day), and November 23rd (Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day). In addition, the city also implements a number of support policies, such as free admission for students at all levels within the city and student groups nationwide participating in extracurricular activities, as well as fee reductions for university and college students.
On March 26th, sites such as Hue Imperial Citadel, the Nguyen Dynasty royal tombs system, and many other monuments within the complex will be open to visitors free of charge, creating favorable conditions for the public to directly experience the heritage.
Visitor numbers are expected to increase during this period. Hue Monuments Conservation Center said it will strengthen guidance, visitor flow management, and ensure security, environmental sanitation, and service quality to provide a safe and civilized experience for visitors.
