Solemn and emotional scenes at enlistment points

At Enlistment Point No. 2 - the City Cinema and Culture Center (under the Command of Defensive Area 1, Huong Tra District), over 530 young men, representing wards and communes including Kim Long, Thuy Xuan, Vy Da, Phu Xuan, Thuan Hoa, Huong An, An Cuu, and Binh Dien, set off to begin their military service.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Phan Quy Phuong emphasized that, building on Hue’s proud revolutionary tradition and its long-standing cultural heritage, throughout the nation’s history of building and defending the country, generations of the city’s youth have consistently upheld a strong spirit of patriotism and readiness to volunteer in safeguarding the Fatherland. That tradition has been tempered through wars of resistance, as well as through the years of national construction and defense, carefully preserved and passed down by successive generations to the youth of today.

Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong expressed his hope that upon arriving at their new units, the recruits would quickly adapt to the military environment; strictly observe the discipline of the armed forces and the People’s Public Security; actively study, train, and cultivate strong political resolve and determination. He also encouraged them to foster solidarity and camaraderie, strive to complete all assigned tasks, and live up to the trust and expectations of the Party organization, authorities, and people of the city. Every step of growth on the training grounds and every achievement in the work of training and combat readiness will be a source of pride for their families and their hometown.

The Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee also expressed his hope that families with children entering military service would continue to express their care, encouragement, and support so that the recruits can devote themselves wholeheartedly to training and duty. At the same time, he called on Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels to further strengthen communication efforts and effectively implement policies supporting the families of servicemen, thereby contributing to building an increasingly strong all-people national defense posture closely linked with the people’s security posture.

Meanwhile, the Enlistment Point No. 5 included the localities of Huong Thuy, Vinh Loc, Hung Loc, Loc An, Phu Loc, Chan May - Lang Co, Khe Tre, Nam Dong, and Long Quang. Among the recruits were 1 Party member and 28 young men from ethnic minority groups, including Co Tu and Van Kieu ethnic communities. All recruits met the required health standards, classified as Categories I, II, and III.

Young recruit Alang Cao Nguyen (Hamlet 6, Long Quang Commune) shared: “I feel very happy and proud to be able to perform my military service. I will do my best to study, train, and fulfill all assigned tasks”.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh emphasized that joining the ranks of Vietnam People’s Army and the People’s Public Security Force is a great honor for every citizen, while also providing a valuable environment for learning, training, contributing, and personal growth. He expressed his hope that the new recruits would quickly adapt to military life, strive to study and train diligently, and work to successfully fulfill all assigned duties, living up to the trust and expectations of the Party, authorities, and the people.

At Enlistment Point No.3 - the Central Cultural House of Phu Bai Ward - the Command of Defensive Area 3 held the enlistment handover ceremony in a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere. Attending the event were Major General Phan Van Si, Deputy Director of the Political Department of Military Region 4; Mr. Pham Duc Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and leaders from various departments, agencies, and sectors…

At this enlistment point, nearly 350 young people from the localities of Phu Bai, Huong Thuy, Thanh Thuy, Phu Vang, Phu Ho, Phu Vinh, and My Thuong departed to join the military.

At Enlistment Point No. 1 – Huong Tra Area 1 Defense Command, the ceremony took place in a lively and warm atmosphere amidst the chilly weather.

In this year's recruitment drive, the new recruits at Enlistment Point No. 1 come from 11 communes and wards, including: Phong Thai, Phong Dien, Phong Dinh, Phong Phu, Phong Quang, Hoa Chau, Kim Tra, Thuan An, Huong Tra, Quang Dien, and Dan Dien. At Enlistment Point No. 4 – the communes in the A Luoi region, while encouraging the new recruits, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh affirmed that the young people of Hue City in general, and the communes in the A Luoi region in particular always uphold the tradition of patriotism and are ready to defend the Fatherland. He also expressed his desire for the young soldiers to strive to forge their bravery and successfully fulfill their assigned tasks.

Fulfilling 100% of the enlistment target

In 2026, Hue City organized the enlistment to the following units: the General Department of Engineering (Ministry of National Defense); Division 324, Brigade 16, Brigade 414, and Brigade 80 under Military Region 4; the City Military Command; the Border Guard; and the City Police.

This is also the first year the city implemented military recruitment and enlistment under the two-tier local government model.

The quality of this year's recruits has significantly improved: 68.6% are aged between 18 and 21; 75.9% meet health standards of Category I or II; 199 recruits with university, college and professional secondary education; and 14 recruits are Party members.

After more than one hour of the ceremony, Hue City completed 100% of its enlistment target in a swift, orderly, and safe manner. Amidst the joyful atmosphere of the enlistment festival, the young people of the Ancient Capital carry with them the faith and expectations of their families and hometown as they set out to fulfill their sacred duty, following the heroic tradition of Hue, contributing to firmly building and safeguarding the Fatherland.
