More than 220 volunteers participated in blood donation

The program attracted over 220 volunteers, including officials, civil servants, public employees, members of the armed forces, and local residents. This year’s early-spring blood drive recorded many first-time participants alongside individuals who have remained committed to the movement for years.

Among the notable participants was Mr. Nguyen Sy Hiep - Deputy Director of the Public Service Center of Phong Thai Ward, who has donated blood 57 times. He shared that blood donation is a noble act that helps save patients’ lives and demonstrates each individual’s responsibility toward the community. “Each time we give a drop of blood, we offer another chance of survival for patients in need. It is also a way to spread compassion and the spirit of mutual support”, he said.

According to Mr. Tran Cong Phuoc - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phong Thai Ward, the demand for blood used in emergency care and medical treatment often rises before, during, and after the Tet. Therefore, organizing the Spring Blood Donation Festival at the beginning of the year carries practical significance, helping to supplement blood reserves while conveying the message: “Every drop of blood donated - a life saved.”

The 2026 Xuan Hong Festival is one of the ward’s major annual blood donation events, continuing to inspire compassion and a sense of social responsibility among officials, civil servants, employees, youth union members, armed forces personnel, and local residents.
