Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, chaired the reception.
Speaking at the reception, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung expressed his delight in welcoming the high-level delegation from Salavan Province to visit and extend Tet greetings to the Party Committee, the government, and People of Hue City on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. He affirmed that the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Hue City and Salavan Province in particular, are invaluable assets that must continue to be preserved, nurtured, and developed sustainably.
Regarding the cooperative relationship between the two localities, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung affirmed that in recent years, Hue and Salavan have maintained a close, trusting, and effective relationship across various sectors, including politics, foreign affairs, defense - security, education - training, healthcare, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

Speaking at the reception, Secretary of Salavan Provincial Party Committee Daovong Phonekeo expressed his sincere thanks for the warm and respectful welcome provided by the leaders of Hue City. He wished the Party Committee, government, and People of Hue City continued success in building and developing the centrally-governed municipality.
Both sides agreed to continue effectively implementing the signed cooperation agreements, increasing delegation exchanges, and sharing experiences in socio-economic management and administration; as well as promoting cooperation in areas of potential and strength such as trade, tourism, education - training, healthcare, and people-to-people exchanges.
