This information was announced by Mr. Nguyen Duc Loc, Director of Hue City Museum of History, at the Museum’s 2026 Work Implementation Conference held on the afternoon of January 16.

At the conference, Hue City Museum of History also reviewed its activities in 2025. Specifically, the museum served and welcomed more than 77,000 visitors to the museum and the heritage sites under its management. Notably, during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day in Hanoi, the museum took part in a thematic exhibition titled “Hue - Heritage, Identity and a Vision for Green Development”, attracting tens of thousands of visitors.

Also, over the past year, the museum received nearly 1,500 documents and artifacts of various materials transferred from Thuan Hoa Ward Public Service Center. These materials and artifacts have been subsequently preserved and promoted their values.

Additionally, the museum implemented and completed the restoration of Dang Huy Tru Mausoleum, and carried out urgent repairs to the former headquarters of the Central Regional Party Committee. The museum also coordinated in Phase 2 of archaeological surveys at Lieu Coc Twin Towers, and implemented digital transformation projects for Phu Dien Cham Tower, an architectural and artistic monument, and Ung Binh historical site at Chau Huong Vien.

Regarding tasks for 2026, Mr. Loc said that the museum will focus on developing a digital transformation project, as well as preparing plans and outlines for exhibitions to be held on major anniversaries and public holidays. Furthermore, the museum will coordinate with agencies and schools to organize thematic exhibitions and mobile ones, as well as history knowledge competitions, and conduct research to develop a plan for the supplemental exhibition of the Nine Tunnels relic…

Moreover, the museum will conduct surveys and carry out procedures to obtain permits for renovations, taking advantage of existing facilities at the new site to develop outdoor exhibition areas, exhibition halls, storage and conservation facilities for all artifacts. At the same time, it has proposed plans to upgrade the system of office buildings for all officials and employees of the museum upon the relocation to the new location.
