Players competing after the opening ceremony

The tournament brings together nearly 250 male and female players from 24 wards and communes, Hue University, and the City Police, including 130 chess players and over 110 Chinese chess players, competing for 16 sets of medals in 2 categories: rapid and standard formats.

Mr. Tran Thanh Tuan, Director of the City Sports Center, said the tournament provides a valuable platform for players to gain competitive experience and improve their skills, helping identify and select outstanding talents for focused training to participate in the National Sports Games in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of 2026, as well as upcoming regional and international competitions.
