The working delegation from the City People's Committee inspected areas at risk of landslides in (formerly) Nam Dong District

At the site, the delegation inspected the abutment of Phu Mau Bridge (Km20+25, Khe Tre Commune), which had collapsed, with the entire underlying structure being washed away due to rising floodwaters. Following this, the delegation inspected the Leno Bridge area, connecting Khe Tre and Nam Dong communes, which was also eroded and had its pier collapsed due to high water levels.

The delegation also surveyed a number of other landslide spots, and inspected a cracked hill area in K'Long village, where the risk of landslide is high after many days of heavy rain. Soil and rock around this area have shown signs of slippage and subsidence, threatening the safety of the residential area below. The main cause is prolonged heavy rain, which has weakened the foundation soil, creating cracks and a high risk of landslides.

Giving directives at the site, Mr. Phan Thien Dinh requested that functional forces urgently review, and assess the extent of the landslides and the risk to people, as well as proactively preparing evacuation plans to ensure absolute safety for people in high-risk areas.

After many days of heavy rain, hills in (formerly) Nam Dong District are at very high risk of landslides

“Given the complicated developments of the flood, especially as river levels continue to rise and mountainous areas still experience prolonged rain, the city has directed increased provision of food to deep-lying areas and areas at risk of being cut off. Forces are urgently deploying response measures to ensure the safety of people,” emphasized Mr. Phan Thien Dinh.

The following are some photos recorded at the delegation's inspection:
