| The North-South railway line running through Hue City has been reopened |
Nevertheless, the speed is limited to only 5km/h to ensure absolute safety for other trains passing through the area. Previously, many sections of the railway through Hue City had stones washed away by floodwaters, exposing the rails and destabilizing the track bed.
Hundreds of railway workers were mobilized to work overtime overnight so as to urgently reinforce, add materials, and check the stability of the track bed, aiming to reopen the line as soon as possible. While the line was cut off, the railway sector organized safe passenger transfers across the flooded area.
To protect the infrastructure, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company also deployed two freight trains carrying a total of 1,150 tons of stone from Dong Hoi (Quang Tri) and Huong Thuy (Hue) to anchor on two bridges, increasing the load to counter the risk of being washed away by flood.
Currently, at Phu Bai International Airport, flights are operating normally but with fewer flights due to many passengers being affected by the flood.
