Continuing the tradition of studiousness

The final round of the “Road to Mount Olympia” 2025 was a competition among four competitors, namely Le Quang Duy Khoa (Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted), Doan Thanh Tung (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted - Nam Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa), Tran Bui Bao Khanh (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi), and Nguyen Nhut Lam (Cai Be High School, Dong Thap).

Throughout four sections: Warm-up, Overcoming obstacles, Speed-up, and Finishing, the audience witnessed dramatic breakthroughs, with the excitement building right up to the final second. Ultimately, Tran Bui Bao Khanh (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) won the championship of the 25th “Road to Mount Olympia”.

In the final round, Le Quang Duy Khoa was the first contestant to compete. He finished second in the Warm-up section with 60 points. After the Overcoming obstacles and Speed-up sections, Khoa had 140 points. Entering the Finishing section, Khoa chose a question package consisting of one 20-point question, and two 30-point questions, deciding to use the hope star for the last question. Answering correctly, he raised his total score to 180 points - a result that demonstrated a spirit of calm competition, effort, and confidence until the very end.

Duy Khoa emotionally shared: “I feel happy to have represented my school and Hue in this major competition. The most valuable thing is the journey of learning and being immersed in the wonderful cheering atmosphere of my hometown.”

Despite not achieving the laurel wreath, Le Quang Duy Khoa remains a pride of Hue - a successor to the tradition of studiousness and the spirit of conquering knowledge of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted. He also made a great effort and gave his all in the journey of conquering knowledge, supported and encouraged by thousands of people in his hometown.

On the morning of October 26, the Song Huong Theater truly became a stage for “Hue's pride”. Thousands of students, parents, and locals flocked to the theater area, coloring the space red with flags, banners, and the resounding chant: “Go, Duy Khoa!”. Many who could not get inside still lingered in front of the large screen outside the hall, following every section of the final round together.

Notably, the cheering formation display of the words “Duy Khoa - Stay strong”, and the performance of a song titled “Nha toi co treo mot la co” (“There is a flag hanging at my house”) by students of Quoc Hoc - Hue became a deeply moving highlight. This was not only a cheer, but also a message of faith and love from the hometown sent to the representative of Hue. The artistic performances at Hue showcased the blend of tradition and modernity, introducing the cultural identity of Hue to the audience nationwide, graceful and profound, yet youthful and vibrant.

For the teachers of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, Duy Khoa's journey is a source of pride and an inspiration for teachers and students to continue training and striving. Mr. Nguyen Phu Tho, the Principal of the school, shared: “We understand that Duy Khoa was under a lot of pressure since Phu Duc won the championship last year. He competed and tried his best.”

The image of thousands of people cheering, holding flags, and calling out “Duy Khoa” in the space of the Song Huong Theater will be remembered for a long time - as a symbol of the youthful, confident, and persistent spirit of Hue. This will continue to pass on the torch to Quoc Hoc - Hue's representative next year: Nguyen Hoang Phuc An, a 11th-grade student specializing in Chemistry 1.
