At the talks, the two sides exchanged experiences in the operation of elected bodies and provided updates on the socio-economic development of their respective localities. They also reviewed the outstanding cooperation results achieved in recent times in the fields of political-diplomatic relations, national defense-security, education-training, health, and people-to-people exchanges.
Both sides agreed to continue strengthening delegation exchanges, sharing experiences, and expanding cooperation in trade, tourism, education, and investment. They also agreed to coordinate in completing the transport infrastructure through the Hong Van - Co Tai border gate, creating favorable conditions for economic development in the border area.

Notably, in recent times, Hue City has provided 2.1 billion VND in funding to construct a Command Post for exercises in Salavan, contributing to enhancing the defense capacity of the locality. In the field of education, Hue has admitted and trained over 1,500 Lao students, including 259 students from Salavan Province; currently, 50 students are still studying at training institutions within the city.
Cooperation in the health sector continues to be effectively maintained, with Hue Central Hospital and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital signing cooperation agreements with Salavan Provincial Department of Health on medical examination and treatment, human resource training, and patient referrals, offering preferential fees for Lao citizens.
Immediately after the talks, the delegation from Hue City People's Council paid a courtesy call to Comrade Pa Dom Phon Son Tha Ny, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Salavan Provincial Government Committee, continuing to affirm the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two localities, contributing to the consolidation of the close-knit Vietnam - Laos solidarity.
