The forum focuses on 4 topics: Developing the private economy in conjunction with digital transformation of the digital economy; heritage economy and private enterprises; linking the innovation network in the Central region; and Hue E-Commerce Day 2025 and an innovative exhibition connecting heritage and technology.
In Hue, strategic directions for science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation have been concretized in the city's development practices and have yielded many achievements. The city has been ranked fifth nationwide in the Provincial Innovation Index (PII) in 2025.
However, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, frankly acknowledged that the gap between digital government and digital economy and society remains quite large, as the level of technology application in enterprises is uneven.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, the city needs to focus on some breakthrough directions on training and developing digital human resources; perfecting the digital institutions and data platforms to create a competitive advantage; and investing in service platforms and high-tech applications. It also needs to develop an innovation ecosystem linked to socio-economic development, focusing on building innovation centers, enterprise incubators, open innovation spaces, and venture capital funds. This will create a favorable environment to nurture ideas, test technology, commercialize new products, build digital platforms to support innovative startups, and help facilitate faster connections between investors, experts, and startup community.
Within the framework of the forum, delegates focused on assessing global trends in digital economic development, and lessons learned from various countries and localities, thereby drawing strategic suggestions for Hue.
Experts also focused on analyzing the role and development model of private enterprises in the digital age, especially how to leverage local cultural identity and heritage to create products and services with a unique imprint. Enterprises participating in the forum also shared experiences in building a digital transformation ecosystem to support small and medium-sized enterprises, and technology solutions from large digital platforms to promote business model innovation and enhance the competitiveness of the private economic sector.
