During the workshop, delegates conducted a final project evaluation, and presented an assessment report on the implementation of waste sorting at source

Since 2022, the TVA Project has accompanied Hue City in implementing the waste sorting at source program, a significant step in raising awareness of environmental protection and changing daily habits.

Through the program, people are instructed on how to sort waste scientifically and effectively. The project not only provides technical support and installs sorting bin system, but also coordinates with local authorities and waste collection units to ensure waste is collected, transported, and processed efficiently, preventing plastic waste from leaking into the environment.

Notably, this model also creates livelihood opportunities for informal waste collectors by establishing technology-driven waste collection cooperatives via the mGreen app. This also fosters a sense of community and environmental responsibility. From schools and residential areas to public spaces, the activities of waste sorting at source and reducing plastic waste have been contributing to building Hue into a green - clean - bright city.

The TVA Project is funded by the WWF-Norway (through the WWF-Vietnam), and received by Hue City People's Committee. Its goal is to help the city protect its rivers and coastal and wetland ecosystems from plastic pollution, with a target of reducing plastic waste leakage by 30% by 2025. The project runs for five years, from 2021 to 2025, and is divided into two phases: the project initiation phase (2021), and the implementation and scaling-up phase (2022-2025).

At the workshop, a team of experts from the Faculty of Environment - University of Sciences, Hue University, presented the Final project evaluation, and an assessment report on the implementation of waste sorting at source.
