| Currently, to cross Tam Giang lagoon, residents still rely on ferries at Con Toc and Vinh Tu, which pose safety risks, especially during the rainy season |
Vinh Tu bridge has been a long-standing aspiration for many generations of leaders and residents of the former Quang Dien District. At the moment, the only way to reach the other side of the lagoon is by ferry at Con Toc and Vinh Tu, which carries significant risks, particularly during the rainy season. Therefore, the relevant authorities have submitted the proposal seeking approval for the Vinh Tu bridge project.
According to the plan, the project will begin at the T-junction of Provincial Road 4 (Km 18+800, intersecting with Provincial Road 19 - Nguyen Vinh Street, Quang Dien Commune), about 330 meters from Con Toc ferry terminal. The endpoint will be at the intersection of National Highway 49B with the planned coastal road (Km 20+500, Phong Quang Ward), approximately 450 meters from Vinh Tu ferry terminal.
The project will have a total length of about 3.240 meters, including a 2.360-meter-long bridge and 880 meters of approach roads. The bridge and approach roads will have a cross-section width of 15.5 meters. The project will include synchronized infrastructure development such as sidewalks, green spaces, street lighting, drainage, and traffic safety systems.
The total investment is expected to exceed 1.500 billion VND, with construction costs accounting for about 1.200 billion VND.
