An exciting and dramatic final round

This year's competition featured four of the most outstanding students, selected after many rounds, namely: Nguyen Hoang Phuc An (11th-grade, specializing in Chemistry 1), Le Quoc Hung (11th-grade, specializing in Physics 1), Truong Phuoc Minh (11th-grade, specializing in Informatics 1), and Nguyen Phuoc Bao Anh Huy (11th-grade, specializing in Mathematics 2).

The “climbers” started strong in the warm-up section, answering questions well and creating an exciting atmosphere. Phuoc Minh had an impressive start, taking the lead with 75 points; Phuc An was right behind with 65 points; Quoc Hung had 55 points, and Anh Huy had 15 points.

In the overcoming obstacles section, after four horizontal rows were revealed, Phuc An pressed the bell to answer the central box. His correct answer, “natural gas”, successfully cleared the obstacle and propelled him into the lead with 105 points. Phuoc Minh and Quoc Hung were tied for second place with 85 points, while Anh Huy remained at 15 points.

The speed-up section saw a remarkable breakthrough by Phuc An. With quick reflexes and accurate answers, he increased his score to 205 points. He was followed by Quoc Hung (175 points), Phuoc Minh (145 points), and Anh Huy (45 points).

In the finishing section, Phuc An's composure and strategic gameplay continued to shine. He correctly answered all three questions in his question package, and earned additional points by pressing the bell to answer other contestants' questions. The final round concluded with Phuc An securing a convincing victory with 255 points. The following places went to Quoc Hung (180 points), Phuoc Minh (75 points), and Anh Huy (45 points).

With this achievement, Nguyen Hoang Phuc An officially became the champion, and will represent Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted at the 26th “Road to Mount Olympia”. This is an opportunity for him to continue to test his skills in a knowledge-based competition, and bring the image and pride of Quoc Hoc - Hue to friends all over the country.

“The Red Laurel” is an annual event organized by Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted to find and nurture talented students with the knowledge and skills needed to participate in the “Road to Mount Olympia”, a popular TV program organized by Vietnam Television that is widely loved by students, parents, and the public.
