In the second round, the Department of Education and Training is offering 638 slots across 31 public high schools in the city; for examples: Hai Ba Trung High school (4 slots), Nguyen Hue High school (6 slots), Nguyen Truong To High school (30 slots), Cao Thang High school (26 slots), Phan Dang Luu High school (7 slots), Gia Hoi High school (19 slots), and Bui Thi Xuan High school (12 slots), etc.
Eligible applicants are students who registered for admission to 10th grade at public high schools in the 2025–2026 academic year (first round) but were not accepted to any of their three chosen schools. They must have completed all required exams in the entrance exam held on June 2, 2025, without violating exam regulations and without receiving a zero mark on any test.
Applications must be submitted online through the Department of Education and Training’s Admissions Portal at: http://tuyensinh.thuathienhue.edu.vn. Each student is allowed to register for one preference, applying to one of the public high schools in Hue City that still has available slots as specified by the Department, regardless of the student’s residential area.
Students applying for the second-round admission to a public high school must have an application score (their first-round score) that is equal to or higher than the first-round admission cutoff score for that specific school. To be admitted, the student’s score must not be lower than the cutoff score set in the first round for the high school they are applying to in this second round.
Based on the application scores, students will be ranked from highest to lowest to fill the assigned quotas for each school. If multiple candidates have the same score at the final cutoff point and not all can be admitted, selection will continue based on the following priority order: Higher total score across the three exam subjects; Higher overall GPA for the 9th-grade year; Higher combined GPA in Literature and Math for the 9th-grade year. If a tie still remains after applying these criteria, the final number of admitted students will be determined by the Department of Education and Training.
From July 2 until 5:00 PM on July 4, candidates must complete their application process and download their registration form to verify the submitted information. After this deadline, the system will automatically close. The information saved in the candidate’s registration form on the system will be considered the official and confirmed application data.
The admission results will be announced by the Department of Education and Training on July 8.
