| Vesak is time to reaffirm the spirit “Buddhism always accompanies the nation” |
The 2025 Vesak Celebration is not only a time for Buddhists to commemorate the three great events in the life of the Buddha: his Birth, Enlightenment, and Passing into Nirvana, but also a global spiritual-cultural festival that brings humanity together around the universal values of Buddhist wisdom: compassion, insight, and peace for today’s world.
This year’s celebration in Hue is particularly meaningful, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025). It also follows the successful organization of the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is an occasion for the Buddhist community and the public to rekindle the light of wisdom, nurture compassion, and connect people through love and understanding. It is a time to reaffirm the spirit that “Buddhism always accompanies the nation,” contributing to the strengthening of national solidarity and the building of a compassionate, civilized, and progressive society.
