Amidst the special emotions shared by compatriots nationwide towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, this special edition of Hue Today wishes to contribute to spreading the radiant pride of the Fatherland's flag, along with the message shared by Corporal Lu Van Hoa, driving the T54B tank with the number 843, which crashed through the side gate of the Independence Palace: The moment comrade Bui Quang Than planted the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam atop the Independence Palace, brought the soldiers extremely intense emotions, signaling the complete collapse of the Saigon puppet regime, the total liberation of the South, and the reunification of the North and the South under one roof. We jumped out of the tank, embraced each other, and cried tears of joy. Deep down, we all remembered the heroic martyrs - the comrades who stood shoulder to shoulder with us in battlefields, dedicating their youth to independence, freedom, and the nation but did not get to enjoy the happiness and joy of liberation.

The following are the images recorded by Hoang Hai and Ngoc Hoa, the photographers.
