Traditional dance performance at the opening ceremony of the Ham Heo Community Tourism Site

Previously in 2020, Phong Dien Town invested nearly 3 billion VND to develop essential infrastructure for the Ham Heo ecotourism area. Key facilities built include a reception house, kitchen, restrooms, electricity and water systems, parking areas, vehicle pull-off spots, and an access road to the stream. Last year, the town continued investing more than 6.5 billion VND to add recreational and check-in spots, along with a 7-meter wide, 1km-long concrete road leading to Ham Heo.

Ever since the Thuong nguon O Lau (Ham Heo) Ecotourism Site was officially recognized, during summer, it attracts an average of 500 - 700 guests per day for sightseeing, entertainment, and stream bathing. On holidays and weekends, the figure can reach nearly 1,000 visitors daily. To date, 19 households have registered to run over 20 stalls and shops, providing stable employment for nearly 200 local workers.

Local leaders and visitors touring the Ham Heo community tourism area

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary Doan Ky Coi of the Phong Dien Town Party Committee, emphasized that the Ham Heo Ecotourism Site serves as a key connection point among various nearby attractions, such as A Don and Khe Me streams, and historical relics of former revolutionary bases. He highlighted that launching the Ham Heo site was the result of considerable efforts from local authorities, particularly the Phong My Commune People’s Committee, which established regulations to manage and support businesses operating within the site and attract more and more visitors coming to relax and explore.
