Bao Vinh forging craft was born hundreds of years ago and it has been developing up to now.
At present, the ward is home to 28 households engaging in forging and mechanical work, with the participation of over 40 workers. Initially, the residents of Bao Vinh forging craft village started making simple products such as crowbars, sledgehammers, chisels, and sickles, etc., to use in agricultural activities. All items are handmade with skilled hands and extensive experience. Bao Vinh forging’s products are now distributed across provinces and cities in the Central Region. Annually, the forging households produce over 75.600 products, providing stable employment and income for local workers.
Over time, both locals and authorities from Huong Vinh Ward have considered the work of preserving, maintaining, and developing Bao Vinh’s forging products, considering it an important craft of the locality. Therefore, the recognition of this craft by the Provincial People’s Committee (City People’s Committee for now) will contribute to upgrading the products quality, and be the foundation to maintain and develop Bao Vinh forging craft to enhance the socio-economic development of Huong Vinh Ward.
