European Film Festival 2020 opens in Hue

HNN.VN - On the evening of November 21, European Film Festival held by the European Union in Vietnam opened at Cinestar Hue. The film festival is held on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of EU-Vietnam diplomatic relations. This is the 20th year that the European Film Festival has been introduced in Vietnam.

A great number of viewers coming to watch movies in the first screening

Taking place from November 21 to 30, the festival brings to the viewers 13 outstanding films selected from 14 European countries, in which there are many films won national and international prizes such as Reunion, The Wonderful Life of V, Before Dawn, The Silence of Fellow Humans, Perfect Stranger, Motherland, and On this Occasion Every Year, etc.

The films depict the journeys of youth and maturity, history and present life, of familial values and complex ego in the world of contradictions and hopes, etc.

In the opening night, the film festival introduced to the viewers the film “Louise on the Beach”. This is the animated film winning prize at Ottawa International Amination Festival. The film revolves around the story of Mrs. Louise, an aged woman abandoned in a small seaside resort town. It seemed that Mrs. Louise might not get over the winter. However, she considered the thing that being abandoned is a challenge and she has to face everything to survive.

The film festival is a chance for Hue people to enjoy the creative cinema works and get better understandings of the European culture, as well as European humans and countries. The films in the festival will be free screened. Tickets are available at Cinestar Hue.
