Hue City claims double trophies at ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018

HNN.VN - "ASEAN Clean Tourist City" and "ASEAN Green Hotel " (for Pilgrimage Village Boutique Resort and Spa) are the two awards that the Ancient Capital of Vietnam has just earned at the ASEAN Green Award ceremony - part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2018 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Selection criteria for the ASEAN clean tourist city include cleanliness, waste control and management, harmonization between natural landscapes and architectures, green spaces as well as urban safety.

The standards of the ASEAN green hotel have been developed by ASEAN member states since 2006 and were first announced in Thailand in 2008 and then Brunei in 2012, with 11 criteria comprising environmental policy and actions for hotel operation, use of green products, cooperation with the local communities and government, energy efficiency, etc. Each year, ten tourist establishments of each member country are nominated for the title.

Also, at the TRAVEX International Travel Fair, a highlight of the forum, Hue city collaborated with the Vietnam Administration of Tourism to promote Hue tourism, including its new products and tours, especially the coming Hue Cultural Festival 2018.

The program was funded by support from Thien Tam Fund of Vingroup.
