On July 30th, Hue City Department of Culture and Sports announced that Hue City People’s Committee has issued an official document approving the continuing of archaeological excavation of the remaining area approximately 200 square meters at Lieu Coc Twin Towers site (Kim Tra Ward, Hue City). The goal is to gain a comprehensive and complete understanding of the Lieu Coc temple-tower complex.

Many mysteries have been revealed at the Lieu Coc Twin Towers relic site (located in Huong Xuan Ward, now Kim Tra Ward, Hue City) following the completion of the second phase of excavation in early July 2025. This excavation continues the first phase carried out in 2024, aiming to find the answers to the Cham architectural structure buried underground for centuries.

Alongside efforts to expose the foundations of the South and North towers and the southern and northern perimeter walls, the second phase of the archaeological excavation at the Lieu Coc Twin Towers has yielded over 9.300 samples and artifact fragments. These consist mainly of architectural materials, decorative elements, stele fragments, ceramics, stoneware, terracotta objects, and bronze fragments.

Subsequent to more than 2 months of exploration and archaeological excavation of the Lieu Coc Twin Towers monument, the experts judged that there are 2 main tower temples in the monument, with no sign of a third tower temple. If so, then the Lieu Coc Twin Towers monument is a special and sole monument in the system of Champa Tower temple monuments with 2 main worship towers.
