The review and adjustment of Hue’s urban master plan to 2045, with a vision toward 2065, marks a pivotal moment for the city’s future development. As Hue has recently become a centrally-run governed municipality, the planning process goes beyond merely updating technical indicators or redefining urban boundaries; it opens an opportunity to redefine a long-term development vision for one of Vietnam’s most distinctive heritage cities.

To develop the city towards the sea and foster regional links, Hue City has, in addition to effectively implementing its master plans, prioritized attracting and investing in major projects to complete its infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, from central urban areas to satellite urban areas.

That is the affirmation of Mr. Nguyen van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in an interview with Thua Thien Hue Weekly about the Thua Thien Hue Urban Master Plan to 2045, with a vision to 2065 (UMP).
