The 48 Hour Film Project to hold free screening in Hue

Every land has memories of its own. Some memories are preserved in history books, stone steles, communal houses, pagodas, and temples. Others, however, remain in the most ordinary forms - in the name of a village, a small hamlet, a riverside wharf, or a field.

In recent years, at many festivals and events in Hue city, Phan Huy Thanh has impressed music lovers with his distinctive songs composed and sung by the musician himself, such as Non (The Conical Hat), An gi o Hue? (What to Eat in Hue), Tu dien Co do (The Ancient Capital Dictionary), etc.

When summer arrives, Hue awakes earlier, bathing itself in the sunlight that spills brilliantly across the landscape. So do life, as activities begin to stir across the countryside, coastal areas, lagoons, and the city. Each dawn sky reveals a scene of its own: expansive yet unassuming, warm, tranquil, and brimming with renewed vitality.

On the evening of July 4, at the City Cinema and Culture Center, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Hue City People’s Committee, held the opening ceremony of the 2026 “Playing folk musical instruments and singing folk songs from the three regions” Festival.

On the afternoon of July 2, Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh, had a courtesy meeting with a delegation from the city of Cergy (French Republic) on an official visit to Hue.
