Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam have many similarities in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values
Vice Chairman Tran Van Tan said that Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam in general, Hoi An city in particular, have similarities, aiming to preserve and promote the value of "Heritage City" to be as a motive force for economic, cultural and social development.
The Politburo issued Resolution 54 for Thua Thien Hue on "Construction and development of Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045", with the goal of building Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-managed city on the basis of preserving and promoting the value of the ancient capital heritage and cultural identity of Hue with distinction in culture, heritage, ecology, landscape, friendly environment and smart city.
On that basis, Quang Nam province wishes to exchange and share experiences of Thua Thien Hue province related to a number of issues such as: steps to build the project; project consultant units; orders and procedures for consultation with ministries, branches and central authorities; the work taking fees of entrance, restoration and remodeling of monuments; planning work; experience in implementing projects ...
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh affirmed that the exchange of experiences of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam provinces on building specific mechanisms and policies to preserve and promote heritage values is necessary to promote the specific values that the two localities currently own, towards the common goal of sustainable development, promoting the values of history, heritage and cultural identity.

Sharing some specific experiences, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh said that the province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to lead and coordinate with departments, agencies and localities in setting up the project "Building Thua Thien Hue to become a centrally-managed city on the basis of preserving and promoting the values of Hue ancient heritage and Hue cultural identity, and special mechanisms and policies for Thua Thien Hue".
The province chose the Central Institute for Economic Management - Ministry of Planning and Investment as the consultant unit. At the same time, the province focuses on directing and building a specific implementation roadmap through Action Programs and implementation plans; holding weekly and monthly progress press conference. Besides, consultation conferences and seminars to take opinions of ministries, branches and central agencies to perfect a number of important mechanisms and policies are organized, too.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh said that the meeting has raised many problems for both localities. On the basis of similarities in many aspects, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam need to coordinate closely in the coming time, in order to solve difficulties and problems, to support each other in promoting tourism and socio-economic development.
