More than 250 athletes competing in the National Taekwondo Championship in Hue

HNN.VN - On the evening of December 16, the National Taekwondo Championship 2021 kicked off at the Provincial Sports Center. In compliance with regulations on prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, the championship has being held in the form of a "closed bubble" without audiences, and the opening ceremony was also shortened.

The championship, which is taking place from December 16 to 19, brings together more than 250 athletes from 26 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.

This championship aims to select athletes to attend the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31); thus, it is expected to be very exciting and attractive as the competing delegations have brought to it their strongest athletes, so as to seek the slots to attend the largest sports event in Southeast Asia, to be taken place in Vietnam next year.

In comparison between tradition and athletes, the top three leading delegations of the whole championship are likely to be the competition among the delegations of Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi, and the army.

From the host team, most of the ten athletes aged from 17 to 19. As this is the first time participating the championship, Thua Thien Hue Taekwondo delegation sets a goal of being in contact with the competition and striving for having medals in the fighting content.

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Taekwondo Federation presents itself for the first term, period 2021-2025, with 17 members. Mr. Le Dac Nguyen Xuan is the Chairman of the Federation.
