Exciting 35th Traditional Boat Racing Competition of the province

HNN.VN - In the joyful atmosphere, celebrating the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Department of Culture and Sports organized the 35th Traditional Boat Racing Competition of Thua Thien Hue province on the morning of September 2, with the participation of 9 units from wards and communes of 9 districts, towns and Hue City.

This year's boat racing attracted nearly 300 male and female athletes to compete in 10 categories, including Male Cung and Male Pha (three rounds of six laps), Male Tien and Female Tien, and Male and Female Tien (two rounds of four laps).

This year's boat racing competition took place at a location on the poetic Huong River, in front of Hai Ba Trung High School. Organizing this competition is also an opportunity to promote and develop local tourism, services, cuisine, and trade during the holiday.

A large number of people and tourists came to enthusiastically cheer for the racing teams, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, ensuring security and safety issues, contributing to encouraging the racing teams to uphold honesty, nobility, solidarity, and demonstrate cultural civilization in sports competitions.

According to the Organizing Committee, the locality organized the Traditional Boat Race this year, in order to maintain and develop the movement of practicing traditional ethnic sports, preserve and promote the local cultural and sports traditions; meet the needs of enjoying culture and sports of the people, enhance exchange activities and solidarity of units in the area. This is also an opportunity to promote traditional cultural and sports activities of the homeland, associated with stimulating tourism in the province.
