Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho awards certificates of merit to students winning the First Prize Award in the National Excellent Student Competition

In the National Excellent Student Competition this academic year, among 75 students of Thua Thien Hue province’s team, 52 students won prizes; of which, three First Prize awards belonged to three students: Tong Phuoc Thanh An and Tong Phuoc Thanh Binh (Physics), and Ho Viet Duc (Biology); 13 Second Prize awards; 18 Third Prize awards and 18 Consolation Prize awards (all candidates of the team are students of Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted).

Ministry of Education and Training has also selected excellent candidates to attend the second round to select the national team participating in regional and international Olympic competitions. Accordingly, Thua Thien Hue is expected to have eight students including four students in Physics team, one student in Biology team, two students in Chemistry team, and one student in computer science team.

Speaking at the commendation ceremony, Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho praised and congratulated the students who conquered the top of knowledge and won the high prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition. Their achievements have brought fame and highlighted the traditional fondness for learning of Thua Thien Hue land; affirming that “Thua Thien Hue is a high quality multi-disciplinary education and training center of the country”.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee congratulated and thanked the teachers and the parents who have cared for and guided their students, their children so that they could get proud achievements; at the same time, he desired that Thua Thien Hue students would continue to win many achievements in national and international competitions, bringing glory to the hometown.
