On March 31, representatives from the organizing committee for the exhibition of Emperor Ham Nghi’s paintings announced that the exhibition “Sky, Mountains, Water” will take place at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature) in Hanoi, from April 24 to May 10.

The exhibition is curated by art researcher Ace Le and Dr. Amandine Dabat (the 5th descendant of Emperor Ham Nghi).

The exhibition “Sky, Mountains, Water” will feature 20 artworks gathered from 10 private collections. These artworks have been repatriated, appraised, preserved, and restored by leading experts. In addition to the exhibition space, the event will also include a series of accompanying activities, including interactive sessions and thematic tours with a team of curators and experts.

Previously, the exhibition “Sky, Mountains, Water” was held at Kien Trung Palace within Hue Imperial Citadel in March 2025, attracting more than 110,000 visitors.

This is the largest exhibition of paintings by the patriotic emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty ever held in Vietnam. Through artworks such as “Afternoon over the Alps”, “Row of Birch”, and “Cattle on the meadow”, etc., viewers can sense the rustic and simple brushstrokes that carry a deep longing for the homeland of an exiled patriotic emperor.
