The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on the afternoon of May 22 in Hanoi, with the participation of leaders of the ministry, experts, and researchers.
Delegates from Hue attended online from the city People's Committee's bridge point, chaired by Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh.
Hue is the only Ancient Capital in Vietnam that still largely preserves its complete architectural complex of citadel, palaces, mausoleums, esplanades and altars, etc., along with tens of thousands of exceptionally rare artifacts and antiquities. Hue is a convergence of the nation's wisdom, the pinnacle of which is eight UNESCO-recognized heritages. Furthermore, Hue Ancient Capital is also home to memorial relics of President Ho Chi Minh, a system of extremely valuable revolutionary historical relics, and hundreds of festivals, dozens of traditional craft villages, with majestic and poetic natural landscapes,… all of which have formed its unique cultural identity.

From January 1, 2025, Hue became a centrally-governed municipality, with the orientation of building and developing Hue as the first cultural heritage city of Vietnam. Therefore, in addition to preserving its unique values through traditional methods, Hue has gradually piloted, exploited, and promoted in line with the movement of the times, with the spirit of “Hue is always new”, and “Hue strives with the nation's new era”.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, the locality is deeply aware that traditional cultural values are priceless assets passed down from previous generations to the present and future generations. They are not only significance to educating the younger generation about tradition, but also an extremely crucial resource for the locality's socio-economic development.
From its practical management experience, Hue City believes that the internationalization of Vietnamese culture in general, and Hue's culture in particular, holds immense significance in promoting and developing national values.
