Artist Ton That Dao’s statue to be erected at the University of Arts

HNN.VN - The University of Arts, Hue University is taking steps to erect a statue of the artist Ton That Dao - the school's first rector - to commemorate and honor his contributions.

The statue of the artist Ton That Dao will be created by sculptor Phan Thanh Quang. It’ll be 1.2m high, made of bronze, and will be placed in a solemn position in the middle of the campus of the University of Arts. The statue is currently being cast in bronze and is expected to be erected in December this year.

The project will be inaugurated on the occasion of the university’s 65th foundation anniversary, expected in April 2022.

Deceased artist Ton That Dao was the first principal of the National School of Hue College of Fine Arts, the predecessor of the University of Arts, Hue University today. He was one of the greatest artists of Hue.
