The event was attended by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho; Standing member of Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council Nguyen Quang Tuan; Standing member of Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Hue City Party Committee Phan Thien Dinh; and a large number of researchers, experts, as well as culture lovers, etc.
This exhibition is displaying 300 artifacts, which are divided into two topics. In the first topic of "The Huong River tells stories", the pottery artifacts, which belong to the dynasties of the Ly, the Tran, the Le So and the Nguyen, dating from the 11th to the 20th century, had been found in the Huong River bed.
The second topic of "The ancient vestiges in the O Lau River" is a collection of various types of antique pottery, dating from the 17th century to the end of the 20th century, which had been discovered in the O Lau River bed, mainly bearing the distinctive features of Phuoc Tich and My Xuyen pottery kilns.
The artifacts on display to the public are considered an indispensable piece in the general picture of cultural heritages, which recorded the presence of cultures through historical periods, as well as the process of formation and development of the Ancient Capital.
The exhibition is part of the series of activities within Hue Festival 2022. Mr. Nguyen Duc Loc, Director of the Provincial History Museum, said that through the exhibition, a relationship of association, cooperation and sharing of experiences between the two units was also created. At the same time, researchers and visitors to Hue will have more valuable documents in researching, preserving and promoting the value of underwater heritage. The exhibition also contributes to the gratitude to researchers and collectors of antiquities, who have contributed to the conservation, preservation and promotion of the value of antiques in the current period.
The exhibition is open to the public until July 15.
