Hue city to hold “Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019 – The quintessence of Vietnamese crafts”

TTH.VN - On the morning of May 23, the People’s Committee of Hue city embarked on the draft plan for organizing Hue Festival 2019 at a press conference with patriotic personalities, intellectuals and press agencies.

In order to continue promoting the brand name and status of a Festival city, and to follow the success of Hue Festivals and Hue traditional craft Festivals, in 2019, the People’s Committee of Hue city keeps on holding a festival with the theme: “Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019 – The quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts.”

Accordingly, the organization area will focus on exploiting the pedestrian paths along the Perfume River and the cultural artistic space on Le Loi Street. In this area, they will introduce unique products of Hue traditional craft villages such as: embroidery, artistic vitreous enamel, jewelry, fine art carpentry, inlaying, bronze fine art, etc.

The main activities include the display, performance, and introduction of handicraft products and craft villages from Hue and other provinces; the ao dai festival; the northern, central and southern food festival; the offering ceremony in honor of the ancestors of Vietnamese crafts; etc.

On the morning of January 1, Hue City Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Central Region Airport Authority at Phu Bai International Airport, Phu Bai International Airport, and the Vietnam Airlines branch in Hue, along with Pacific Airlines organized a program to welcome the first flight and visitors to Hue City in 2025. On November 30, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 175/2024/QH15 regarding the establishment of Hue City as a centrally governed municipality (NQ175). Simultaneously, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution 1314/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district- and commune-level administrative units in Hue City for the 2023–2025 period (NQ 1314). These resolutions will take effect on January 1, 2025.
