Patients received free diabetic retinopathy screenings

Diabetic retinopathy is one of the serious complications of diabetes. Without timely detection, monitoring, and treatment, the condition can cause severe vision impairment and even lead to blindness.

Held from November 2 to 6, the free screening program was launched by Hue Central Hospital to provide patients with access to eye examinations and raise awareness of the importance of blood glucose control and proactive prevention of complications.

The program provided screening services to approximately 600 people with diabetes. The program not only gave patients an opportunity to detect complications early, but also helped improve the effectiveness of community healthcare.

Through the program, Hue Central Hospital continues to step up its efforts in prevention, early detection, and timely intervention, aiming to protect patients’ vision, reduce the risk of preventable blindness, and improve their quality of life.
