| This year’s Wrestling Championship at Hue City Sports Festival brings together nearly 100 wrestlers |
Organized by Hue City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Championship brings together nearly 100 male and female wrestlers from seven wards and communes across the city and Hue University. Among them are several localities with strong wrestling traditions, such as Quang Dien, Hoa Chau and Huong Tra. The athletes compete in several weight categories, including 44kg - 48kg, 52kg - 57kg, 60kg - 65kg, 70kg - 75kg, and over 75kg.
As one of the city’s key competitive sports and a core discipline in achieving strong results at previous sports festivals, this year’s Wrestling Championship is expected to identify outstanding wrestlers to strengthen the city’s athlete pool for regional and international competitions, particularly the 10th National Sports Festival, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City in November. The Championship is also one of the final competitions for Hue City Sports Delegation to finalize its squad ahead of the upcoming National Sports Festival.
The Championship takes place over two days, September 26th and 27th.
