Organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Championship gathered nearly 150 top athletes from 13 wards, communes, and units across Hue City. From September 25 to 26, male and female athletes will compete in the 100m, 400m, 1,500m, and 3,000m races, 4x100m relay, high jump, long jump, and shot put.
Mr. Tran Quang Sang, a representative of the Organizing Committee, said that the event provides an opportunity to assess the quality of sports training and coaching at localities and units, while identifying and selecting outstanding athletes for the city’s teams in preparation for regional and national championships in the coming time.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the competitions got underway in an exciting atmosphere, drawing enthusiastic support from a large crowd of spectators. The athletes competed with determination, honesty, and sportsmanship, delivering many exciting contests on the first day of the championship.
