| The delegates share their experiences in implementing the project and propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of school recovery and reconstruction support programs in the coming time |
The project was funded through a non-refundable grant from the Government of the Czech Republic, provided via the Czech Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Department under the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with total funding of more than VND 3.74 billion. Of which, Hue received more than VND 1.65 billion.
The support activities focused on the practical needs of students and schools in the post-disaster period, including financial assistance for disadvantaged students, repairs to school facilities, the provision of teaching and learning equipment, as well as training and awareness-raising activities on clean water, sanitation, and disease prevention.
Under the project, 1,000 disadvantaged students affected by the 2025 floods in Hue and Danang received VND 2 million per student in financial assistance, with total funding amounting to VND 2 billion.
In Hue, the project allocated financial support to renovate Phong My I Kindergarten in Phong Dien Ward and Phu Mau No. 2 Kindergarten in Duong No Ward. Each relief package was valued at VND 150 million. The works included repainting, waterproofing, roof repairs, floor tile replacement, repairs to drainage systems and restrooms, and the provision of additional items for children. In Danang, the project supplied post-disaster recovery and reconstruction equipment to Phu Dong Primary School and Tran Quoc Toan Primary and Secondary School in Hoi An Ward.

| The Hue Red Cross Society host a communications contest to raise awareness of clean water, sanitation, and disease prevention |
In addition, the project organized training and communication activities to equip participants with knowledge of the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, local disaster risks, the impacts of climate change, protection of vulnerable groups, and first-aid skills. In each locality, the Red Cross Society held a training course on first aid, disaster preparedness and response, and climate change adaptation for teachers and students, contributing to strengthening their response skills and promoting safer schools.
In parallel, the Hue City Red Cross Society hosted a communications contest to raise awareness about clean water, sanitation, and disease prevention for students in grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 through a “Quiz Bowl” format. The contest helped students gain knowledge about water use and conservation, personal hygiene, waste sorting, and the prevention of common school-based illnesses.
At the conference, the delegates noted that the project had helped students and schools address the impacts of natural disasters while raising their awareness, knowledge, and skills in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. They also exchanged experiences in project implementation and put forward recommendations to make school recovery and reconstruction support programs more effective in the years ahead.
